Eva Alexander, E-RYT® 200, RYT® 500
I developed a passion for yoga in 2003 when I used it to manage the challenges of pregnancy and child birth. Shortly after my second child was born, I started taking vinyasa flow classes at Planet Granite (now Movement). I realized the many benefits of yoga. Yoga sharpened my focus, lessened my fear for falling while climbing, and strengthened my whole body like no other exercises did. Most importantly, I no longer suffered from asthma, a disease that I had since I was a baby. I loved that I felt the sense of "flow" and inner peace when I practiced. In 2010, I decided to spread my love of yoga and be able to touch people's lives positively. I completed Mark Stephens' 200 hours Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher Training in 2011 and then Jennifer Prugh's Joy of Yoga 300 hours Teacher Training in 2016.
In 2012 I started my daily practice in the lineage of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, and a few years later I started teaching Ashtanga "Mysore style" at Breathe Together Yoga in Los Gatos, CA. I have taken classes from senior teachers such as Chuck Miller, Nancy Gilgoff, Peter Sanson, David Swenson and Maty Ezraty.
In 2018 I took Therapeutic Yoga Teachings Training from Manju Jois and started practicing under his lineage. In 2023 I got certified by Manju to teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Primary and Second Series.
In my spare time, I love to spend time in the ocean during the spring, summer or fall time to standup paddleboard or scuba dive. In the winter I love to spend time in the mountains for some snowboarding actions. I am also a handstand addict working towards a consistent pike handstand press. You can see my actions on my instagram @eva.alexander.
